Located in Chicago, Austin Career Education Center is home to a learning community.
At the center, students benefit from a range of academic and counseling services. We provide student-centered classes, ACT preparation, and college counseling to help students approach challenges in the future with confidence.
Students must meet the following criteria to be eligible for registration:
·Aged 17 and above.
·Have 10 or more high-school credits.
·Qualify on our entrance exam, and...
·WANT TO LEARN!!
Steps:
1. Call to make a reservation for the test. The test takes about two hours and will assess your reading and math skills.
2. Bring the following to the test:
- Prior high schoool transcript (may be unofficial)
- Completed Student History Form with Essay
- Release from prior high school, if available
- Medical Records
- Proof of address
- Proof of age
- Proof of income
Student is NOT officially enrolled until he/she provides all of the eligibility information. Students who do not complete the above paperwork within the registration period my be put on our wait list until next term.

- Monday, December 22 - Friday, January 2, 2009: No school, Winter Break
- Monday, January 5: Return to class
- Monday, January 19: No school, Martin Luther King Jr. Day
- Tuesday, Janaury 20 and Wednesday, January 21: Final Exams
- Friday, January 23: End of Quarter 2 and Graduation
